Serving Faith, Education & Community
For almost four decades, Jamia Islamia Ghousia Trust has grown from an educational vision into a mosque, learning centre and community institution serving generations of families in Luton and beyond.
Who We Are
Education was where our journey began.
Jamia Islamia Ghousia Trust was established in Luton under the leadership and vision of Allama Qazi Abdul Aziz Chishti MBE (T.I.), initially as an Islamic educational institution created to provide structured religious education, guidance and facilities for children, young people and adults within Luton's growing Muslim community.
From those beginnings, the Jamia developed into an established mosque and registered charity in its own right: a place of worship, education, pastoral care, welfare and community service. Today, the Trust serves people locally and nationally, while its charitable outlook also reaches overseas.

Qur'anic and Islamic learning for children alongside adult education, scholarly lectures, seminars and programmes that encourage lifelong learning.

Mehria Primary School & Early Years
Our commitment to education extends into primary and early-years provision, supporting children academically, socially and spiritually from their formative years.

Nikah, Marriage & Family Support
Nikah ceremonies, marriage registration, pastoral guidance, counselling and confidential support for families through marriage, separation and other personal matters.

Ghousia Funeral Service
Compassionate religious and practical assistance for bereaved families, supporting the final rites, Janazah and funeral process at one of life's most difficult moments.

Islamic Guidance
Access to qualified scholars for religious and Shariah guidance concerning worship, family life and personal matters, delivered with discretion and pastoral sensitivity.

Welfare & Food Support
Community meals, food provision, welfare initiatives and practical support for vulnerable individuals and families, alongside wider efforts to alleviate hardship and poverty.

Pastoral Care
Visiting and supporting the sick at home and in hospital, assisting the elderly, supporting families through bereavement and providing moral and practical guidance.

Community Cohesion & Interfaith
Building relationships across faiths and communities, promoting mutual understanding, religious tolerance, social responsibility and a shared commitment to Luton's wellbeing.
Working Together
Part of the wider life of Luton
Serving the Muslim community also means contributing positively to the wider society of which we are a part. JIGT works and engages with statutory authorities, public services, educational establishments, faith organisations, charities and voluntary groups to support community wellbeing, cohesion and understanding.
These relationships help the Trust respond to local needs, support vulnerable people, encourage dialogue and ensure the voice and needs of the Muslim community can be understood within wider civic life.
